The Dholera International Airport is strategically planned to be situated 20 kilometers from the Dholera Special Investment Region (SIR) and 80 kilometers from Ahmedabad. The authoritative body has allocated 1700 hectares of land for the development of this extensive airport, positioning it to be one of the largest airports globally, featuring top-tier facilities. This project stands out as one of the most significant infrastructure endeavors for the city.

Referred to as the Federa International Airport due to its proximity to Federa in the Ahmedabad district, this airport project is poised to be a transformative force. It will seamlessly connect the smart city to major global cities, thereby broadening the city’s potential as a global trading and manufacturing hub, offering foreign investors convenient access.

For the systematic development of the Dholera airport, a dedicated entity named Dholera International Airport Company Ltd (DIACL) has been established. According to its brochure, the proposed plan includes two runways measuring 4,000 meters and 2,900 meters, underscoring the grand scale and advanced features of the airport.

In the upcoming five years, the Dholera International Airport is expected to alleviate the heavy traffic burden on Ahmedabad airport, serving as a viable alternative. It is poised to emerge as a superior international hub compared to Dubai, reducing the flight distance between Heathrow and Singapore by 322 kilometers, resulting in significant time savings for passengers.

Foreseen as a catalyst for substantial investment inflows into the smart city, the Dholera airport is attracting global investors eager to contribute to its development.
